The heart simulator under development is a multi-scale and multi-physics simulator that has never been achieved before. We start with physiological models describing the dynamics of various ion currents and sarcomeric proteins, leading to the active deformation of virtual myocytes with microscopic intra-cellular structures, and tissue-level contraction and relaxation. This in turn leads to beating of the heart and ejection of blood, which produces the blood pressure and electrocardiogram.
